Botto’s third canonical period expressed a collision of opposites, emphasizing the slippage of reason and the incompatibilities between art and reality.

The term paradox finds its roots in the Greek para ("contrary to") and doxa ("opinion"). Throughout the period, Botto explored the notion of identity and human emotion through the interplay of faces, conjoined heads, and dualities within characters.

Themes were introduced to enable Botto to work with a narrative throughline within a given period. Because the selected theme is added verbatim to the prompts generated during that period, they also convey a point of focus for the art engine’s exploratory boundaries. Themes guide the prompts, and they also guide the curation process, asking voters to interpret how well fragments align with the theme. Curated from a selection of twelve themes, "Paradox" was the first theme selected by the DAO.

Paradox aligns with Botto’s earlier periods, with maximalist color palettes and often figurative subject matter.

"A collision of opposites, a beautiful chaos
and a fearless exploration of the unknown."
