MMMAD - Digital Art Festival

Every night in May at 23:59, the screens of the iconic Palacio de la Prensa in Callao will cease broadcasting advertisements to transform into enormous digital canvases displaying a curated selection of site-specific works by renowned international artists, curated by ONKAOS. We will reflect on the city through landscapes created by Botto, a generative artificial intelligence governed by its community; we will visit the dystopian future of Chino Moya, where science and mathematics dictate a quasi-authoritarian aesthetic system that has eradicated other living beings; we will ponder progress, doubt, and diversity in identity through the work of Filip Custic; we will enjoy the friendly characters of Juan Díaz-Faes, crafted with geometric shapes, lines, and bustling patterns; we will delve into the data clouds, code, and complex machine learning algorithms of Mario Klingemann; and we will question our societal behavior through the work of SMACK, depicting a space of solitary individuals wandering a digital world. MMMAD Minute is an initiative by MMMAD in collaboration with Súper 8 Media, born in 2021 to champion the role of digital art in public spaces. In 2022, we collaborated with ONKAOS as guest curators, an international project of the SOLO Collection dedicated to supporting and promoting new media artists.
